UMAFS Market Review Week Ending 4/28/2017
The market continued its upward trend this week as the Nasdaq Composite broke 6,000 for the first time. As mentioned in recent reviews, analysts were left to digest a diverse set of news from corporate earnings to central bank decisions and US tax reform plans. Furthermore, they were hoping for clarification from the Trump administration on a specific timeline and details about the proposed tax reform; however, they were still left with many questions.

Meanwhile, overseas, the European Central Bank met this past week and elected to keep their key interest rate the same. This information, along with other strong indicators, drove European indexes to their highest levels since August 2015.

The Federal Open Market Committee will be meeting this week, and on Friday, Janet Yellen will share her insights as to the strength of our economy.
