Market Review - Week Ending 9/8/2017

This week will mark 8 ½ years of the great bull market since the great recession. On March 6, 2009, the S&P 500 reached its intraday low of 666.79. The good news is that things have changed quite a bit since then with the S&P 500 returning 332.64% since that day. This is enough to turn every $1 into $4.32.

Analysts continue to watch oil prices and production as refineries work to get back online after Hurricane Harvey. Many will be watching to see if Hurricane Irma has a similar effect on oil demand through the coming week.

Looking forward to the coming months, people are beginning to speculate whether President Trump will reappoint Janet Yellen as Chair of the Federal Reserve after her term ends in February 2018. While it is too early to say, the coming months could be telling about which way our President will lean.
